​Jeff was born in Kelowna B.C. Canada, where he completed his B. Sc. degree at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. Under the supervision of Professor Frederic Menard, he worked on the synthesis of fluorescent dyes for labelling voltage gated calcium channel proteins. Jeff then moved to Ontario to attend the University of Western Ontario where he obtained a M. Sc. degree under professor Michael Kerr. He completed the total syntheses of several gelsemium alkaloids while under Kerr’s supervision. In his free time his hobbies include gardening (which is fueled by his hobby for cooking and his hobby for eating), playing video games, and cross-country skiing.
