Ray Turro, G5
Ray was born and raised in picturesque Ridgewood, NJ. With
a hunger to learn about methods development, he worked
for Dr. John Unger at Juniata College on asymmetric
copper-hydride reductions to prepare chiral aziridines. He
also spent time in the lab of Dr. Uttam Tambar at UT
Southwestern working on both the fluorination of allylic
C–H bonds and synthesis of photoaffinity probes. In
his free time, Ray enjoys listening to podcasts about
board games while hiking. He also helps our more
vertically challenged labmates reach things on the top
shelf.
