Sven Richter

Sven was born and raised in Germany and studied chemistry at the University of Goettingen, where he worked on cobalt- and manganese-catalyzed C–H bond activation with Prof. Lutz Ackermann. For his PhD he moved to the Technical University of Berlin to work on deoxygenation reactions with Prof. Martin Oestreich. A research stay at UC Berkeley in Prof. Richmond Sarpong's lab made him a fan of both total synthesis and sunny California, so he decided to join the Reisman group as a PostDoc. Outside the lab Sven enjoys playing badminton, going to the movies and exploring Pasadena by bike.
