Ángel Hernández-Mejías, G2
Ángel was
born and raised in Caguas, Puerto Rico. He earned a B.S.
in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico-Rio
Piedras, where he worked in Prof. Eduardo Caro’s
research group focusing on the synthesis of marine natural
products. The summer of 2021, Ángel joined Prof.
Hartwig's lab as an Amgen Scholar where he studied the
borylation of alkyl C–H bonds. He then moved to
Pasadena and joined the Reisman lab in 2022 to pursue his
passion for synthetic chemistry. Outside of the lab, he
enjoys watching sports, eating mofongo, listening to
music, and going to the beach.
