Emily was born in Irvine, California and grew up in Clifton Park, NY. She studied chemical engineering at Stony Brook University, where she researched host-guest polymerization processes (with Dr. Nancy Goroff) and cationic polymerization reactions (with Dr. Melanie Chiu). Setting aside polymers to work on some smaller molecules, Emily returned to sunny California to join our group! When Emily isn't in the lab, she can be found baking, painting, or running around Pasadena.
