Hayato Shiotsu, G1
Hayato spent his childhood in Malaysia, Spain, Italy, and his home country of Japan. He then attended Harvard college, where he worked in Prof. Eric Jacobsen’s lab investigating small-molecule hydrogen bond-donor catalyzed reactions. After graduation, he worked as a medicinal chemist at Gilead Sciences for a year and a half before coming to Caltech. At Caltech, he is interested in working at the interface of organic and inorganic chemistry, and is co-advised by Prof. Jonas Peters. Outside of lab, he enjoys soccer, skiing, and visiting new places.
