Jaron Tong, G5
A lifelong nomad, Jaron finds themself calling Beijing and
the Midwest home. He spent his most formative years at
Purdue University working towards degrees in Chemistry and
Physics while fascinating over subjects like math, dance,
and gender studies. Jaron’s research with Prof.
Suzanne Bart on organouranium chemistry and Prof. Chris
Greene on ghost trilobite bond drives them to understand
the intersection between chemical reactivity and quantum
physics. Hoping to help create new synthetic mythologies,
he is eager to unravel the mechanistic intrigues of nickel
mediated cross-coupling at Reisman lab. Other than working
in front of Jaron’s hood and laptop, you can find
Jaron reading on a train, dancing in the woods, or
training at his Dojo.
