Philip Boehm
Born in raised in southern Germany, Philip studied
chemistry at the Technical University of Munich. For his
master’s thesis, he joined the group of Prof. John
Hartwig at UC Berkeley, where he worked on copper-mediated
fluorination of aryl silanes and iridium-catalyzed allylic
substitution reactions. He then moved to Switzerland to do
a PhD with Prof. Bill Morandi at ETH Zürich, working
on the development of new carbonylation and metathesis
reactions. Captivated by the Californian lifestyle, he
then decided to do the German pilgrimage back to the US,
and joined the lab of Prof. Sarah Reisman as a postdoc to
work on total synthesis. In his free time, Philip enjoys
doing all kinds of sports and hanging out with his
friends.
