Simon Cooper
Simon was born and raised in America's finest city –
San Diego, CA. He ventured slightly north to study
chemistry at the University of San Francisco, where he
developed nanoparticle-based sensing systems with Prof.
Larry Margerum. Simon then worked with Prof. Todd Hyster
at Princeton University for his PhD, developing new
light-driven asymmetric radical chemistries catalyzed by
nicotinamide and flavin-dependent enzymes. Simon likes to
keep things radical outside of work as well, enjoying
pretty much any activity that involves standing on a
board. He also likes music, language study, cooking, and
reveling in the fact that he's back in Southern California
at last.
